We are so happy to announce that one of our extraordinary volunteers, Claudia Lima, has joined the We Are Up Board of Directors. Not only is Claudia a highly recognized and well-known artist, she also brings to the Board the perspective of a parent of an adult child with Down's Syndrome. Her advocacy for her son, Christopher, has led her to serve on the State Council of Developmental Disabilities, the Area 1 Board of Developmental Disabilities, and as Area Director for Humboldt County Special Olympics, among other organizations. We are lucky to have Claudia’s experience and perspective on the We Are Up Board! Out Board is also gaining some depth as we have formed three advisory committees with board members and community volunteers to widen our ability to hear from the community and bring the We Are Up vision closer to reality. As We Are Up is still an all-volunteer organization, we are so very thankful to everyone who continues to devote their time and resources to this project.
