Who We Are

The We Are Up non-profit is on a mission to empower adults on the autism spectrum and those with physical, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities by providing an innovative, integrated, community-based, and long-term place to call home.

This beautiful 15 acres right in town, within walking distance to grocery, health care, bank, and public transportation will no longer be in need of repair and care.  We expect 80% to remain open space as a public benefit while creating housing and community space for some of our most vulnerable neighbors.

What We Do

In less than a year we have purchased the land and done countless studies to better understand its needs. We are thrilled that Kash Boodjeh has agreed to be our Architect. We have created a website and Stacey Douglas-Jones has given us not one but two inspiring logos and helped with so much design support.  We have planted 30 mature apple trees and found lifelong sponsors for 1/3 of them.  What gives the most joy is seeing how many volunteers have found this project worthy of their time, care and commitment.

How You Can Help

You can support the orchard. Lifetime supporters will have their name and honoree on a permanent tag for the tree.

You can make a general contribution to support the greenhouse. We are hoping to fundraise locally for the greenhouse so that We Are Up has community support when we apply for grants for housing.

We know not everyone can afford to contribute financially. You can help by sharing the newsletter or volunteering.
